Farewell to the Torpys

I don't like this post, not one bit.  We've known Jon and Monica Torpy since Stephen and I were newlyweds.  We've remained in contact as they've moved all across the country and 3 times have bounced back to Allen.  This time though they're leaving for good to Colorado.  We've spent as much time as possible with them leading up to their departure.  And we're holding on to our plans to spend New Years with them to help us survive.  These are some of our closest friends who we've known our whole married lives and our children interact more like family than just friends.  They are "Fram-ily" and I think we all shed a few tears about them leaving.

Magnolia with friends

My good friend Hillary Hess and I are a bit nuts I think.  We wanted to go on an outing down to Waco to the Magnolia Silos and we took a few friends.

We enjoyed bakery treats, a little shopping, and playing in the yard area.

And on the road trip home we stocked up on kolaches in West, Texas--Yum!

June 2019 Summertime outings

I really enjoy my summertime with my kids, we're always trying to get them outside and off screens so here are some of the things we did:

Stephen and Melissa went trail bike riding, mom is new at it and had to go slow.

We (plus friend Grace H.) went to the Perot Museum which is always a favorite, but we really enjoyed a special traveling exhibit called "The Art of the Brick" which were really cool things made of Legos--we LOVED it!

The city of Melissa opened a Buc-ee's which is an epic gas station that has quite a following and is something of a mecca and beloved in Texas

One day a week we turn off the screens and get outside, on one of these days we went for a long walk in Plano to the Oak Point Nature Preserve, it was lovely!

Matthew always has more energy than we know what to do with, so I try and take him with me on my morning walks.  Sometimes he runs, sometimes he rides his bike and sometimes we make great discoveries like this turtle!

Fathers Day June 2019

We celebrated our dad's in College Station and enjoyed giving them breakfast in bed!

All three of them!

And we enjoyed some cousin time!

Boating season 2019

Not a lot of comments about this boating season because I think the photos and expressions on people's faces say it all.  I will say that this summer we attempted double skiers and tubers which was excellent fun!

June 2019--Let's go camping!

My girls are headed to annual summer Girls Camp with church.  They're going to Bonham State Park about an hour north.  This is Lindsey's first year going--EEK!  They left early one morning and were greeted with donuts.  They're going to have so much fun!

Lindsey with two besties Raegan and Bella

Our ward's awesome leaders and girls.

Kaitlyn wants to remember the battles of pranking between the wards and their cabins.  And that Brett Stewart (Director of MCO came and spoke to the girls).  And that she slept in everyone else's bed except her own (Jessica L and Morgan B)

Lindsey wants to remember that she ate too much junk food and kind of got sick.  She wasn't too worried about being away from home for the first time because Kaitlyn was there.

The girls weren't the only ones going camping, Sam went to scout camp for his final time and it was all about the merit badges....well and some fun too.

He went to Trevor Rees Jones Scout Camp in Athens Texas.  Stephen went too, I'm so grateful they've done this together each year.

Merit badges earned: Chess, Robotics, Geology, and he did a woodturning class and made a keychain.

May 2019: Singing at Roughriders game, Matthew cub scouts advancement, & Change the World weekend

Sam got to help sing the National Anthem at a Roughriders game and I had two of the cutest dates to watch!

Matthew advanced in cubs and mom got to paint his face!

(Matthew with Hudson Bonadio)

(Lindsey & Bella Byrne)
We packaged meals for Kids against Hunger for Change the World Weekend, so glad to have some friends to do it with!

Seussical the Musical

This sweet girl is trying her hand at ACTING and DRAMA--she's always had a flair for the dramatic and thankfully there is a great little youth theater group not too far from home so she auditioned for SEUSSICAL the MUSICAL.

Her role was Vlad Vladikoff the evil bird that gets rid of Horton's precious clover with the village of whoville and it's residents on it.  She did a fabulous cackle and we were all so proud!

And we are so grateful for all the loved ones who came to support, I mean really this girl is SO LOVED!

May 2019: End of school year happenings

LAST day of school May 2019!  They've grown so much!

Usual shaving cream fight at Bradford Trace park--they're ready!

Other end of school events was getting to go with this kid and his class to the Perot museum for a field trip!

Sam was inducted into the NJHS, doesn't he look handsome in his bowtie!
