Bikes

So our kids got bikes for Christmas (thanks to Apple J!!) and due to a busy schedule and weather we've had a hard time being able to actually use them. This last weekend was GORGEOUS in Texas and so Hubby spent some time outside with the kids practicing our bike riding. Pushing the pedals is a new skill for KP so we've been having her practice on Chubbs tricycle because it's easier to manage, but this last Saturday she rode her 2 wheel bike by herself (so it still has training wheels, she's only 3 1/2) from about 5 houses down all the way home. I wish I could have bottled the enthusiasm and pride this little girl expressed!! She was on cloud nine!!

And then they're Chubbs , what a kid! He wasn't so into riding the bikes, but he loved being pushed by Dad in either the little green car or on his tricycle. At one point a little piece of his trike came off and Dad got out a screwdriver to fix it. That was all the prompting Chubbs needed, he came running in the house and made me get out his pretend tool kit, he got his own tools and busied himself for the next 20-30 mintues pretend fixing his toy car!! Gotta love it!!

The Ten Virgins, a musical parable

This weekend I dusted off my drama and vocal skills and performed in our Stake Productions of the 10 Virgins a parable by Emily Freeman. It was a musical production taking a few liberties to tell the stories of each of the 10 Virgins. I played Malka, a loyal and foolish virgin who didn't quite get the importance of her lamp. She thought it was too special and beautiful to actually use so she set it on display in her home. How true that is for some of us. I found a bit of myself in each of the foolish Virgins, what a lesson for me!!

It was a lot of work and time for such a busy mom but it was well worth it. The production was for a special stake Relief Society event and was very well received. It was so much fun for me to do, I miss performing and singing and the subject matter gave me such a lift to my soul. We've even been asked to do it again in a few weeks for the Young Women! The message of this production needed to be given to so many I'm just humbled to be a part of it!!

A close cutting call

So with three kids I'm easily outnumbered especially when Hubby is not around. So I was making dinner one Sunday morning (Church gets out right at dinner time) and I knew that KP and Chubbs were playing in the bathroom. It got really quiet and I hollared to them to find out what they were up to. KP in her most matter of fact voice says "I'm giving Chubbs a haircut." WOAH! I go rushing in there to find this scene. KP with the de-tangling spray and some nail cutting scissors and a comb and Chubbs her unknowing victim. Shew that was close!!

Getting this going

So practically everyone I know has started a blog for others to see all the exciting (or not so exciting) events of their lives with their families. And because I LOVE looking at people's blogs and seeing what they've been up to and how they're growing I thought (selfishly) that you might be interested in my life just as much. So here we go!!

Meet my family. I'm the one in the middle putting on a happy face and trying to keep it all together (or at least look like it). I am married to a wonderful and handsome guy . We've been married for almost 7 years and have 3 children under the age of 4 (WOAH!!). We didn't plan them to come this quickly but we're so glad they're here and love being their parents. "KP" will be 4 in April and "Chubbs" will turn 2 also in April. "BL" is our baby (okay so they're all kind of babies still) and is almost 4 months old.

Life is very busy with these little guys, but I LOVE my life and wouldn't choose to do anything else. My children are my greatest joy and my greatest challenge, I think that's why I love them so much.
