So proud of these guys who spent their Labor Day Weekend going down to Houston to help "muck out houses". It was a holiday weekend so there was an extra day. And due to the holiday there were no soccer games planned. Andrew called up and invited Stephen and Sam to go down and help if they wanted to. Stephen brought a couple friends and 4 of them went down for a weekend they'll never forget.
On Sunday they were invited to attend a special church meeting kind of mid-morning which seemed odd. Then came an announcement from the pulpit that "IF a member of the First Presidency were to arrive, it would be appropriate to stand." Stephen called me excited and speculating. Sure enough, President Dieter Uchtdorf comes and speaks. What a thrill!

Meanwhile at the homestead....
I received "the call" to help Elder Jones coordinate and plan 3 weekends of volunteers to head to Houston to help with efforts. This became my view 3 times a week at Elder Jones' house as we "war roomed" it over Blue Bell ice cream.
