Boating, boating, and more boating....

This year, more than in years past, our family enjoys boating with friends..

McKneely Family Boating Weekend!!

A few notes from the McKneely boating weekend.  Stephen was working crazy hours but we did get up to Britt's house early to get things situated.  Laura and the girls arrived early to help us.  We did some boating and got pizza from Napoli's.  The big kids enjoyed "Jurassic Park" while waiting for the College Station clan to arrive but they had some car issues with the van in Corsicana and Stephen had to go get them--it was a late night for him for sure!  And the end of Mom and Dad's tan van!

This year's boating weekend fell on one of the HOTTEST weekends in history--I think the high was 109!!  And the best way to deal with that is to be in and near the water.  Shelly got up on the wakeboard, Lindsey actually went out of the wake on skis!  Matthew also tried knee boarding.

We also used Britt's jet skis and burned through a bunch of fuel!  Matthew is a surprisingly good driver on them too--that was fun!  What wasn't fun was that Matthew somehow got a bad case of hives from drinking a blue Gatorade.  We need to be more careful!

And when mom watched Stephen waterski, she cried happy tears!

On Sunday we experienced a miracle.  Somehow in driving over to the boat from Britt's house, Stephen uncharacteristically left the boat box on the tailgate of the truck and it fell off.  When they made it to the boat club they realized what they'd done.  We were devastated and the only thing we could do was pray.  It was a long shot to get the boat box back to us, there were probably no identifying information on or in the box.  Well we were sitting in church up in Sherman and my phone rings and it's Tina from the boat club office and a police officer had found our box and turned it into her because there was some piece of paper in there with Texins Boat Club info.  It was a miracle!  So grateful.

One might think that a boat is luxury and not something important enough to plead with the Lord over.  But this boat means so much to our family, to Stephen, to family time, to memories--and it DID matter to the Lord.  So grateful!

Also in July we enjoyed a quick visit from my cousin Jaime and her sweet family, husband Alan and son Logan:
