While it's all still fresh and all still fluid, part of our family's history is the crisis of Melissa's father Donald.
During the month of May, Melissa spent significant time managing Don's care while he stayed in a mental hospital in Dallas. He was admitted in mid April and stayed until June 1st. Donald, in his loneliness after losing Deon, married Samantha. Theirs was not a healthy or happy marriage and it drove Don crazy--literally. Melissa had to gain control of his finances to protect them from being taken. The hospital categorized Don and Samantha's relationship as abusive and measures had to be taken to protect him from her. It is all very sad, tragic, disappointing, and painful.
