September 2018

September is the month when actitivites get back into a routine and they're busy!  3 kids playing soccer, MCO Choir with 4 of us, Allen HS Football games, etc.  It's a crazy fun life!

Late August, Stephen took the boys to an Aggie Football game at Kyle Stadium.  They even got to miss school to attend!  What a great memory!  Go Aggies!

Family work projects.  We rebuilt the fence between our house and our neighbor Robert Dove.  Family work projects don't always bring out the best in our family, but they are opportunities to learn to work together, communicate, and spend time together.  Plus, dad is pretty handy so the finished product looks so much better than what we used to have.

Our K is one of those people out there.  In a 900+ member High School marching band I spend a lot of time trying to find her on the field.  She loves this!

We enjoy Sunday walks as a family and found a new path that takes us past the old train tracks in Allen.  Sam wasn't feeling like being in the photo.

One Saturday evening, I had the kids begin to get showered before bed and church in the morning.  We quickly realized that there wasn't any hot water and our water heater, original to the house built in 2001, which should only have an 8 year lifespan had finally given up the ghost.  Our children grabbed their shower stuff and headed down the street to the neighbors, and Stephen began a significant project on a Saturday evening.....why does it always seem major projects begin then?

I spent a few days with this cutie at 5th grade outdoor education camp!  It's a lot of work, but we made good memories!

And when we got home, it was appropriate to grab a drink from Sonic and take a good hot shower!  We were pooped!

Soccer season!  These two both pulled off wins on the same day!

And this kid scored a "hat trick" which is 3 goals in the same game!

Matthew loves to build things and play in old boxes.  This box from the water heater remained in the house for a few weeks.  He even slept in it!

A wonderful visit from Aunt Sarah and Uncle Alex and had an epic nerf war outside!  Alex has garnered the title of "favorite uncle".

This made me cry.  We've broken quite a few things around the house lately as a result of not following the rules.  Just a few weeks before this tile broke (by a ball thrown in the house) and scratched the floor, a nice vase with silk flowers was knocked off the same table and broken.  I admit I went and cried in my room when this tile broke.  I just felt like it was pointless to have nice things in my house because my children also have to live there.  So frustrated!

Matthew was asked to be a "prophet" during sharing time in Primary.  Thankful someone snapped a photo of him for me!
